The following points display what will be included in a standard service & calibration (this may vary depending upon your machine)
Your machines vacuum pump oil will become contaminated over time with moisture, debris & acids drawn in from the vehicles system you are working on, thus reducing the efficiency of the machine. A poorly performing vacuum pump will greatly reduce the transfer of gas back into the vehicle.
Over time as more & more refrigerant passes through your machine the filter drier will become contaminated with acids, moisture & particulates from the systems that you are recovering from. If this is not replaced then key components within your machine such as the compressor could fail prematurely. The function of the filter drier will also clean the refrigerant to be recycled into the vehicle.
Components such as hoses, couplers, gauges, oil bottles etc may cause losses to occur or provide inaccurate results & reduce your ability to perform a successful repair for your customer. Gas lost through damaged couplers & hoses leads to an increase in unnecessary emissions along with additional costs.
A functionality system check ensures correct recovery & delivery of refrigerant. A machine that delivers too much or too little refrigerant could cause inefficient operation of your customers system.
A fully operational vacuum pump will successfully remove any moisture from within the vehicles system, to provide a fast refill providing the vehicles system passes its leak test. Therefore a faulty vacuum pump could lead to misleading diagnosis.
A machine that displays losses is a machine that is inefficient, not environmentally responsible and is also one that is costing you money. In the case that your machine is R1234yf compatible, then even more emphasis for this to be rectified due to safety concerns, for example flammability.
A certificate is a document that can be used for auditing purposes to prove that your machine is operating within the current standards and requirements. It is also a piece of mind to give you confidence that your machine is operating properly & delivering the correct quantities of refrigerant.
